Bishnupur: Bishnupur district administration has urged the general public especially in the district to contact Childline (toll-free no: 1098) or Chairman District Child Protection Unit, (DCPU), Bishnupur or Child Welfare Committee, CWC Bishnupur in case any child has been rendered orphan due to Covid-19 or both his/her parents affected by the pandemic and there is no one take care of him or her.
In a statement, the administration stated that such children in distress will be provided immediate shelter and rehabilitation under the provisions of the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) under permissible guidelines of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.Â
The Child Care Institutions (CCIs) for such children in distress is issued by Director (Social Welfare), Manipur through a letter dated 10th May, 2021 as follow, (i) Glory Children Home, Moirang Thamnapokpi, New Life Foundation, contact details for boys: 9862948678 and 8802002748; (ii) Nura Poireikon Bishnupur, Ward No.4, Universal Development and Caring Society (UDCS), contact details for girls:Â 8730037794 and 8837073926.
