Agartala: The frontal organizations of Tripura CPI-M submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar demanding immediate financial help to the poor people of the state considering the deteriorating situation of Covid-19 in the second wave.

A members delegation of Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP), All India Kishan Sabha (AIKS), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU) met the Chief Secretary and expressed serious concern over the health and economy of the state during the second wave of Covid19.

In view of the crisis, they demanded to provide 10-kilo rice per head per month along with cash of Rs 7,500 to the families living outside the income tax net.

Besides, allocate at least 10 man-days to each family in each month under MG-NREGA. Like previous years landless tribal families should be provided with seeds free of cost for continuing their slash and burn method of agriculture and subsistence allowances for at least three months.
