76 positive cases reported Saturday in Manipur, active cases increase to 414

Imphal: Manipur reported a significant spike 76 new positive cases (71 general population, 5 CAPF) in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Saturday. During the same period, the state also registered one Covid related death and seven recoveries, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Of the 71 persons from the general population who tested positive, 22 are from Imphal East, 19 from Churachandpur, nine from Imphal West, eight from Bishnupur, six from Senapati, five from Thoubal and one each from Noney and Ukhrul.  Altogether, 2,130 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 3.1 %.

Meanwhile, seven persons recovered and were discharged, six of them from home isolation and one from CCCs. The recovery rate in Manipur now stands at 98.08%. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 26,088 out of which 1,23,664 have recovered, leaving 346 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 6, 2022, is 5,397, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,43,309 (1st dose 13,38,158, 2nd dose 10,05,151).
