73rd Republic Day celebrated in Manipur’s Bishnupur district

L Bikram also expressed that the district needs to do more to achieve 100 percent vaccination for 1st dose and 70% for 2nd dose before 10 February in view of the upcoming state assembly election

Bishnupur:
District Administration of Bishnupur Wednesday celebrated the 73rd Republic Day at Mini Secretariat complex in Bishnupur. Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur L. Bikram unfurled the national flag and took salute from the Bishnupur Civil Police contingent commanded by Sub Inspector Phaomei Dijuaichung. Appreciation certificates for distinguished services were presented to 107 officials and staff of the district during the celebration.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner L. Bikram conveyed his gratitude to Frontline Workers, Health Workers, COVID Task Forces, District Police, DLOs, Executive Officers of Municipal Councils and officials and staffs of various Line Departments for their tireless efforts in combating COVID-19. He also stated that precautionary doses will be provided to frontline workers, 60 plus population with co-morbidities, police, polling personnels and other personnels on poll duty.

L Bikram also expressed that the district needs to do more to achieve 100 percent vaccination for 1st dose and 70% for 2nd dose before 10 February in view of the upcoming state assembly election. Stating that active COVID cases in the district presently stands at 94, the DC appealed to the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible and follow Covid Appropriate Behaviours at all times to fight the pandemic. 

The Deputy Commissioner further informed that instructions has come from Election Commission of India that no polling personnel, polling agent and counting agent shall be allowed inside polling stations or counting halls without double dose vaccination. He urged all the Poling Officers/officials engaged for the ensuing assembly election to work sincerely in this tough COVID times for a free, fair and successful election.
