Imphal:In its continuing drive for the destruction of the illegal poppy plantation, a combined team of NAB, Imphal East District, Saikul Police Station, NCB, District Administrative staff, Home Guards, Imphal district Police, one Column of 15 AR, Horticulture Dept and Forest Department destroyed around 70 (Seventy) acres of the illicit poppy plantation at the Maharani hill range under Sagolmang Police Station jurisdiction on Friday.
The team was led by W Basu, SP/NAB and officers consisting Addl SP NAB, DSP CDO/IE, AC 5th IRB, OC SMG, OC NAB PS.
An FIR regarding the destruction has been taken up at NAB Police Station. Till date, 1420 acres of illegal poppy plantation have been destroyed in this 2020-2021 season, said a press note from the PRO, Manipur Police, W Basu.
