7 new positive cases Wednesday, two recoveries, no death in Manipur

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday, 7 persons (4 males and 3 females) from the general population tested positive, 2 persons recovered and as has been the trend these past days, there was no report of any Covid related death in Manipur, per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 7 persons who tested positive from the general population include 2 from Imphal West and 1 each from imphal East, Bishnupur Kakching, Senapati and Tengnoupal. All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release continued.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,305(General Population — 25,871 and Central Security Personnel — 3,434). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 28,897(General Population — 25,468 and CAPF— 3,429). The number of active cases is 30(general population 29 and CAPF 1). Recovery rate is 98.60%.

As per the latest information, the number of people vaccinated on March 9, is 1806 and the cumulative vaccination number is 72387, the release added.

The total number of health care workers who have been vaccinated is 30551 which include the Directors of RIMS and JNIMS, CMOs, DFWOs DIOs of districts, chairman cum managing directors of Shija Hospital and Babina Diagnostics’.

There are no severe reactions/allergies, adverse event following immunization till date. There were 47 mild reactions who were on home care and all of them have now fully recovered.
