63 lakh IT space, 67000 jobs in next five years: Kerala CM

Kochi: Boosting development in the IT sector, Infoparks at Kochi and Thrissur has set up more office spaces to attract IT/ITES companies.
The 9th floor of Jyothirmaya Building in Infopark Kochi Phase 2 and the 2nd floor of Indeevaram Building in Infopark Thrissur are fully operational, a release said.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the facilities at Infopark Kochi. Along with this, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the facilities of Cognizant Technology Solutions on one lakh square feet.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan says, “Since this government came in, unparalleled development activities have been done in the field of IT. From 2016 to 2022, 46 lakh square feet of IT space have been created across the State.”

“45,760 new jobs were created during this period. The government is targeting 63 lakh square feet of IT space and 67,000 employment opportunities in the next five years.”

Minister P. Rajeev presided over the function and he also inaugurated the entrance to the ninth floor of the Jyothirmaya Building, Infopark Phase 2.
Infopark Kochi has new facilities for 10 offices in an area of approximately 35,000 square feet. The new facilities at Infopark Kochi and Thrissur span over 1,60,000 square feet.

A total of 1,000 jobs are planned in 17 offices. Infopark Kochi has new facilities for 10 offices in an area of approximately 35,000 square feet. Each office has been allotted a space of 1800 to 5600 square feet in both wings on the ninth floor of the Jyothirmaya Building.

The smallest office can accommodate 21 people and the largest office can accommodate 95 people. And the Indeevaram Building at Infopark Thrissur located in Koratty has an area of 25,000 square feet on the 2nd floor.

Companies have already started operations in almost the entire space at these facilities, which are entirely under the Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Airpay Payment Service, which has started operations in Infopark Kochi can occupy 95 people in 5604 sq. ft. Feathersoft (5127 sqft – 79 seats), Acabes International (4711 sqft – 58 seats), Quest Global (3667 sqft – 44 seats), Survey Sparrow (3197 sqft – 44 seats), NOMD Technologies (2190 sqft – 32 seats), EPI Use India (2249 sqft – 29 seats), Alignminds Technologies (1828 sqft – 26 seats) and D3 Teck (1689 sqft – 21 seats) are other companies on the same floor.

Web And Crafts Technology Solutions, which is the largest company in Infopark Thrissur, has started its operations with 224 employees in 10104 sq. ft space.

Zapare Technologies (7105 sqft – 134 seats), Windfall Productions (3894 sqft – 82 seats), Raphael Khlat India (1203 sqft – 51 seats), Cephal Medi Solutions (2512 sqft – 24 seats), Strands Energy (1150 sqft – 23 seats) are the other companies.

Kerala IT Parks, CEO, Mr. John.M.Thomas says, ‘Infopark has seen a huge growth post-pandemic. The small and medium-size IT companies on the campus have assisted Infopark to grow tremendously. Along with this, big IT companies like Cognizant Technology Solutions and IBM have also entered and have begun their expansion in Infopark.

These development activities of Infopark will attract more IT companies to Kochi, the commercial capital of Kerala. Jyothirmaya, the first building in Infopark Phase 2, has completed all the works and is fully operational, and this is a proud milestone for Kerala IT. Such development activities would pave the way for the entry of more companies into Tier-II cities”.
