6 dead, 15 injured in huge fire at Mumbai high-rises

Mumbai: At least six died and over a dozen injured after a major fire broke at the 18th floor of the 20-storey high rise Kamala building in Tardeo area of south Mumbai on Saturday morning.

On being alerted, fire brigade personnel and the police rushed to the spot. 

Of 13, three are said to be critical and being treated in B L Nair hospital.

As many as 13 fire engines and 7 water jetties are rushed to douse the flame, official said, adding that it was tagged as a level-3 (major) fire. 

Five ambulances have also been deployed for the rescue operations, the BMC official said.
