Itanagar: Five more individuals have tested positive for the Coronavirus infection in Arunachal Pradesh during the past 24 hours, thereby surging its tally of confirmed cases to 55,293.
On the contrary, one person has recuperated from the ailment in the period that took the state’s total number of recoveries to 54,977, a senior health official said.
All five new cases of COVID-19, confirmed through rapid antigen test, were detected at the point of entry (POE) at Bhalukpong in West Kameng district, which turned out to be asymptomatic, he said.
Arunachal Pradesh’s active caseload now stands at 36, with 30 of them getting recuperated under home isolation. Merely 81 samples were collected for COVID-19 testing during the last 24 hours. The state has so far tested 11,99,738 samples for the infection.
To date, 280 people have succumbed to the COVID-19 infection, the official said.
The State has so far administered about 14.22 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses to its eligible citizens since the launch of the Centre’s nationwide vaccination drive in January last.
