Shillong: The 5-day Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Shillong and the participants from Mizoram, which commenced on February 16, 2025, concluded today, at the Youth Hostel Shillong.
The combination of physical activities like yoga, intellectual engagement through language learning and expert sessions, and cultural exchange through historical site visits and performances creates a well-rounded experience for all the participants involved.
On the closing day, Sibhi Chakravarthy, Director of Community and Rural Development, Government of Meghalaya, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his address, he praised the NYKS for organising such programs, noting that they provide valuable opportunities for the youth to experience and understand the culture and way of life of other communities.
He emphasised on unity in diversity and the importance of such programs in fostering a deeper understanding between different communities across India. He also encouraged the youth to explore themselves and make the most of the opportunities presented by such exchange programs to understand the differences and similarities between the states.
This event successfully brought together youth from diverse backgrounds, fostering mutual respect and cultural understanding, and contributing to the spirit of national integration.
