47L students return to Kerala schools after 2 years

About 38 lakh students from Class 1 to Class 10, as many as 7.5 lakh students from Higher Secondary section and 60,000 students from Vocational Higher Secondary will return to schools.

Thiruvananthapuram: At least 47 lakh students will return to schools in Kerala on Monday as the schools are ready to conduct offline classes after two years amid Covid-19 pandemic.

About 38 lakh students from Class 1 to Class 10, as many as 7.5 lakh students from Higher Secondary section and 60,000 students from Vocational Higher Secondary will return to schools.

About 1.91 lakh teachers, 22,000 non-teaching staff will also attend schools as part of the fully functioning educational institutions.

According to General Education Minister V Sivankutty, the schools will function as per the Covid protocol and a mega cleaning and disinfection drive were conducted before the official opening of the students.
