Imphal: In a significant stride towards regional socio-economic growth, Assam Rifles facilitated the successful culmination of its Skill Development Programme 6.0 during a solemn felicitation ceremony held today at Bamon Awang Leikai in Imphal East district. Conducted as a vital part of ongoing civic action initiatives in the Imphal Valley, this collaborative venture with We Care Skill Solutions provided a comprehensive twelve-week vocational training module in hospitality and retail for local youths, thereby enhancing their overall employability.
The program successfully empowered 44 young participants, comprising 19 boys and 25 girls, who received National Skill Development Corporation certificates alongside formal employment offer letters. These newly trained professionals have secured immediate placements at prestigious establishments nationwide, including Altruist Hotel in Bengaluru, Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, Aayush Resort in Pune, Zone by Park in Chennai and Sunday Hotel in Gurugram. Senior officials and troops present at the ceremony commended the exceptional dedication of the candidates, urging them to serve as proud brand ambassadors of Manipur’s rich culture and heritage as they depart shortly for their respective appointments. This milestone marks the sixth successful training iteration conducted by the force since June 2024, with the unique joint initiative enabling nearly 400 youths across the region to secure gainful employment and embark on a path of respectable livelihood.
