Imphal: The Health and Family Welfare Department Govt. of Manipur under the National Health Mission in association with State TB Cell, District TB Control Imphal West-Imphal East and National TB Elimination Program Sunday observed the 43rd World TB Day under the theme ‘Yes! We can end TB’ at JNIMS Auditorium.
Manipur Intermediate Reference Lap i.e., Line Probe Assay (LAP) Laboratory was also inaugurated virtually.
Speaking as chief guest, H. Rosita, Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare said more awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) should be spread to the people and so that the disease is eliminated from our society. One should support and stand in solidarity with TB affected-people at all times.
The Government of India is aiming to abolish TB from the country on or before 2025, but to do so, TB cell Dept will need the help of all stakeholders.
Dr. O. Sanahanbi Devi, Director, Health Services, Dr Kh Lokeshwar Singh, Medical Superintendent, JNIMS and Sophia Khumukcham, National Consultant, World Health Organisation (WHO), Central TB Division also attended the event.
