43 recoveries against 17 new cases Monday in Manipur

Two of the four persons who succumbed to the deadly virus were from Imphal West while one person each is from Imphal East and Ukhrul.

Imphal: With just 17 new positive cases out of a total sample of 1,975 tested, Manipur registered a much-improved positivity rate of 1.4 % in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm on Monday. During the same period, four persons succumbed and 43 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Two of the four persons who succumbed to the deadly virus were from Imphal West while one person each is from Imphal East and Ukhrul. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1975, Out of the four who expired, one had co-morbidities while none of them had not been vaccinated for Covid.

Of the 17 persons who tested positive from the general population, seven are from Imphal East, six from Imphal West and two each from Ukhrul and Kamjong.

Altogether, 1,975 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 1.4 %.

Meanwhile, 43 persons recovered and were discharged, three of them from home isolation, 33 from CCCs and three from JNIMS and four from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.90 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,169 out of which 1,22,539 have recovered leaving 655 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 26, 2021, is 3,318, the cumulative number of doses administered is 21,43,921 (1st dose 12,78,871, 2nd dose 8,64,050).
