Kohima: Four labours from Assam working in a coal mine located in Longnak valley in Mangkolemba sub-division under Mokokchung district of Nagaland died in the evening on Tuesday last in suspected gas poisoning inside the coal mine.

According to a delayed report received here the incident happened in the mine located in the Atuphumi area on March 16, evening. The deceased male victims were hired labourers from neighbouring Assam. They are reportedly residents from Golaghat and Jorhat districts of Assam. Report said three victims did not come in time, for which the fourth victim went in search of the three and he too did not come out. It said that the local administration has recovered all the four bodies and registered a case of negligence caused to deaths, report said.
