3rd round training continues in Kangpokpi district

In line with this, the third round of training continued today for the PwD Polling Officers, Micro Observers, PRO, PO-1, PO-2, PO-3 and Postal Ballot team at the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC), Kangpokpi District.

Kangpokpi: With a few days left for the first phase voting to the 18th Lok Sabha Elections, 2024, preparations are in full swing in the district to ensure a smooth and inclusive voting process for all electors. 

In line with this, the third round of training continued today for the PwD Polling Officers, Micro Observers, PRO, PO-1, PO-2, PO-3 and Postal Ballot team at the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC), Kangpokpi District.

Altogether 138 Polling Officers attended the training program. The training aimed to equip the officers with all the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure a smooth, free, fair and transparent election process. They were briefed on their roles and responsibilities, which included familiarising themselves with the election machinery, Poll Star app, e-ATLAS app, methods for providing periodic reports of voter turnout every 2 hours and carefully marking the elector roll to prevent any ineligible voters from casting their votes. 

The officers were also reminded of their crucial role in preventing fraudulent activities and were instructed to mark indelible ink on the hands of voters to prevent multiple voting. 

The training was imparted by Lamminlal Simte (Deputy DEO/SDO T. Waichong), S. Plim Reikhenamai (SDO, Island and Lhungtin), Lunlenmoi Vaiphei, (SDC Kangpokpi), Lamginlen (SDC Champhai), Len Singsit (EO/SDO, Champhai), among others.

It may be mentioned that to ensure for inclusive participation in the democratic process for all electors, polling officials will begin visiting houses of the absentee voters from April 13 in respect of the Kangpokpi
