New Delhi: The third edition of the Warfare and Aerospace Strategy Program (WASP), an educational initiative by the Indian Air Force (IAF), will culminate with a capstone seminar at the Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi on June 25, 2024. The seminar’s theme is “India’s Strategic Culture and Imperatives for Contemporary National Security.”

The event will feature an address by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and will be attended by the Chiefs of the three Services, senior military commanders, veterans, distinguished civilian officers from various ministries and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and Vice-Chancellors from Central and State Universities.

Launched in 2022, WASP is part of the Professional Military Education (PME) program, designed to develop a cadre of air power practitioners with critical thinking skills, capable of producing well-researched and cogent arguments and strategies across various domains of warfare. The program is guided by an external faculty of accomplished practitioner-scholars with extensive teaching and research experience.

The third edition of WASP began on March 16, 2024, and includes participation from all three services, as well as academia for the first time. Participants include fourteen officers from the Indian Air Force, two from the Indian Navy, one from the Indian Army, and a research scholar from a think tank. Graduates will be awarded a postgraduate diploma in strategic studies by Rashtriya Raksha University.
