Imphal: Opening the Medal Tally for Wushu, L Sanatombi struck Gold in the Women’s Taijiquan at the Campal Open Ground Sports Village.
In quick succession, Salam Marshal won the Gold in the men’s Qianghu followed by Silver by Leimapokpam Naokhomba Meitei in the men’s Taijiquan.
The cheers for the Manipur Wushu was sweetened by the Gold hard earned by Yumlembam Echanthoi Devi in the women’s Qiangshu.
The floors of the Wushu arenas will see more actions tomorrow as nine in the Sanda have entered the Semi-final.
Sanda female winners in today’s quarter finals are Thongam Aruna Devi, below 52 kg, Oinam Bidyapati Chanu, below 56 kg, Naorem Roshibina Devi, 60 kg, Heishnam Prabhavati Devi, 60 kg, Thokchom Menaka Devi, 70 kg and Elangbam Italy Devi, 70 kg.
Sanda Male winners in today’s quarter finals are Moirangthem Samson Singh, below 48 kg, Athokpam James Meitei, below 56 kg and Thangjam Naocha Meitei, below 60 kg.
