200 candidates found valid for Nagaland polls

According to Nagaland Chief Electoral Office sources, out of the total 225 nomination papers filed for 60 Assembly seats, a total of 22 nomination papers were found invalid, while three candidates, one from the Republican Party of India (Athawale), one from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and one Independent candidate have withdrawn their candidatures from the elections.

Kohima:A total of 200 nomination papers were found valid following the scrutiny of nomination papers for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections by the Returning Officers of various Assembly Constituencies on Wednesday.

Nomination papers may be reduced if a candidate withdraws before the Last Date for Withdrawals.

According to the poll schedule of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, the Last date for Withdrawal of candidature is tomorrow, February 10 next and the state will go for polling on February 27.
