Cooch Behar: Just weeks ahead of an upcoming by-poll in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar district, two persons were gunned down while five left injured as clashes broke out between two Trinamool Congress (TMC) factions during a turf war, police said on Monday.

On Sunday night, sporadic clashes took place between the two factions of the ruling party at Gitaldoho’s Morakuthi area under Dinhata to gain area domination. This comes ahead of the assembly by-poll on October 30. Tension continued on Monday.

After the shootout, Mannan Haque and Muzaffar Hossain were declared dead by Dinhata hospital authorities on Sunday night.
