Imphal: In a significant milestone for the youth of Manipur, seventeen individuals from Churachandpur were felicitated on 02 May 2026 following their successful placement in premier national hospitality establishments, including Taj Westend, Barbecue Nation, and Tamara. Organized by the Assam Rifles at Rayburn College, the ceremony was attended by a gathering of 15 officials and personnel, including the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police. L M Khaute, MLA of Churachandpur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest to honour the candidates who represent the diverse communities of the hill district.

This achievement is the culmination of months of rigorous training at the UNAU Skill Development Centre in Khuga. Named after the local dialect for “siblings” to symbolise unity, the UNAU centre was established in January this year under the Civic Action Programme to align with the Skill India Mission. While initially designed to provide a lifeline to displaced families in relief camps, the centre has evolved into a robust hub for youth engagement. Supported by the Art of Living Foundation and Titan Leap, the curriculum transcends technical expertise to focus on communication, professional conduct and workplace readiness.

L M Khaute remarked that these young individuals have demonstrated how determination, when matched with structured support, can transform lives. This initiative reflects the consistent efforts of the Assam Rifles to collaborate with specialized agencies and local communities to bridge the gap between rural talent and the organised sector. By converting potential into performance, the UNAU centre provides a dignified pathway to national exposure, proving that even amidst challenging circumstances; aspiration can translate into sustainable achievement.
