Chandel: A team of 12 NRDF battalion Tuesday conducted a familiarisation exercise at Japhou village community hall.
As part of their statewide familiarisation exercise, a fifteen days exercise program is being conducted at different parts of the district. Tuesday’s community awareness program was attended by the Headman, Japhou village, OC Police station, Chandel, civil society organisations, volunteers of NYK, and members of different youth Clubs of the village.
During the programs, various techniques for emergency response during fire, floods, earthquakes, etc were taught and shown in practice by the NRDF team. It can be mentioned that the familiarisation program was started on the 1st of this month and will be concluded on fifteen for Chandel district.
The NDRF team leader also informed that an earthquake mock drill will be conducted tomorrow at Japhou Bazaar and that such a programme will also be conducted at different parts of the district like Khengjoy and Chakpikarong subdivisions.
