12 IIT Kharagpur students get Rs 1 crore plus salary offers

Among many high-valued domestic offers, two are close to Rs one crore.

Kharagpur: At least 12 students at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur have received annual gross salary proposals of Rs one crore or more, with the highest international job offer being Rs 2.64 crores, the premier institute said on Tuesday.

Among many high-valued domestic offers, two are close to Rs one crore.
The big-ticket domestic and international offers came from companies across the sectors including analytics, software, finance-banking, supply-chain-logistic, consulting, core engineering, high-frequency trading, tech profile and product development, the institute said in a media release after day five of campus placement 2022-23.

A total of 1300 offers were given to the students of which 46 ranged from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 2.64 crore. KGPians received 46 international offers, more than half of which came from Japan (28). There were nine offers from Taiwan, three from US and two from Singapore, among others.

The offer of Rs 2.64 crore is the highest received by any student from any of the IITs this year. The institute has also accomplished a new landmark of receiving the fastest 1000 offers within day two. The institute’s students have also received 900 internships.

Prof. A. Rajakumar, Chairman, Career Development Centre, IIT, Kharagpur, remarked, “The Institute has broken its own records of day-1 offers and the fastest 1000 plus in day-2 among all IITs, which endorsed the legacy of the institute as well as the quality of the students. This would encourage more companies to visit the campus in the coming days and in near future.
