Imphal: Eleven more Government school teachers have been placed under suspension for not attending school. Orders have been issued in this regard by the Directorate of Education(S) Wednesday. Nine of those suspended are from Lamlong Hr Secondary School while two are from Khonghampat High School.
Nine teachers of Lamlong Higher Secondary School were found absent during a surprise visit to the school by a ministerial team, on February 23, 2021. In continuation of the routine visits and inspection of schools, Education Minister S Rajen Singh paid surprise visit at Khongampat Govt. High School, Heibongpokpi Govt. High School and Khurkhul High School, Wednesday.
While checking attendance register of the teachers during the minister’s visit at Khongampat Govt. High School, two teachers were found absent without permission. Minister Rajen also inspected the infrastructures of those schools.
He also stated that the surprise visit will continue and will cover the remaining districts also. Minister Rajen also appealed all school staff to do their duty with sincerity, particularly at this juncture since Board and Council exams are knocking at the door. He also urged the teachers to work in the interest of the students community of the state.
