Shillong: World Hearing Day was celebrated in various districts of Meghlaya on March 3, 2025 along with the rest of the country.
Awareness and screening programmes were conducted in Civil Hospital Shillong, Ganesh Das Government M&CH Hospital Shillong, Jowai Civil Hospital, Tura Civil Hospital, Nongstoin Civil Hospital and Nongpoh under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness.
The theme of this year’s World Hearing Day is “Changing Mindsets: Empowering yourself to make ear and hearing care a reality for all”.
The main focus this year is on Noise Induced Hearing Loss which is one of the major causes of Hearing loss in this generation.
