World Environment Day to be observed in Manipur

Imphal: The Directorate of Climate Change, Manipur, as a part of a worldwide celebration of the World Environment Day, is organizing a State Level function on Sunday, June 5, 2022 on the UN theme “Only One Earth”. 

The function will be held at Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) site, Herangoithong Maibam Leikai, Imphal at 09.00 a.m. 

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh Forest and Environment and Climate Change, Th. Biswajit Sing; MLA (Langthabal) Karam Shyam; Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar; Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Additional Chief Secretary, M.H Khan, and Vice-Chancellor, Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) Professor N. Rajmuhon Singh will attend the function as chief guest, president, and guests of honour respectively. 

The function will include plantation and felicitation of Brand Ambassador of CM’s Green Manipur Mission, Elangbam Valentina Devi and  Royal Riders Manipur, Langol, Lamphelpat. 

The will will be followed by the release of World Environment Day Stickers/T-shirts/caps and Royal Riders Manipur “Motorcycle Rally” to flag off by the Chief Guest. The plantation programme will continue at the eastern side of Shri Shri Govindajee  Temple, Kangla with Royal Riders Manipur.

The directorate of Environment and Climate Change Department requested the people of the state to attend the celebration to commemorate the day.
