Woman shot dead by son-in-law in Telangana

Hanmakonda (Telangana): A woman was shot dead by her son-in-law in Indra Colony, Gundla Singaram, in this district on Thursday.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Kamalamma. The accused, Prasad, is employed as a police constable at Kotapalli Police Station. Over the past few days, Kamalamma and Prasad have been embroiled in an ongoing dispute over financial matters. Today, Prasad had a heated argument with his mother-in-law regarding the same issue.
At one point, he lost control and shot his mother-in-law with his service revolver, resulting in her immediate death. Prasad fled the scene after the incident.
Upon receiving the report, the police registered a case and sent Kamalamma’s body to MGM Hospital, Warangal, for a post-mortem examination.
Further investigation is currently underway, the police added.
