VP Naidu expresses grief over loss of lives in Kerala floods

On Sunday, the death toll rose to 21 due to rain-related incidents in various parts of the state.

New Delhi: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday expressed anguish over the loss of lives due to floods in Kerala.

“Deeply distressed by the loss of lives due to floods in Kerala. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the safety of those affected by floods. I am sure, the State and Central governments are doing their best to provide relief and succour to the affected people,” Naidu wrote in a social media post.

On Sunday, the death toll rose to 21 due to rain-related incidents in various parts of the state.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Central government is continuously monitoring the situation and all possible support to help people in need. He also prayed for everyone’s safety.
