Thoubal: As part of the 100 days action plan, District Health Society Thoubal organized Village Health Sanitation Nutrition (VHSND) Day at various villages in Thoubal District Wednesday.
In order to improve access to maternal health, child health, adolescent health, and Nutrition services at the village level, Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day is being organised. In the VHSND held at Panchayat Ghar, Langathel, Chief Medical Officer Thoubal, Dr. Y. Nokul Singh; District Program Manager, Ch. Basanta Singh; District Community Mobilizer, Md. Riyas Sheikh, attended the programme.
As a part of health talk, Dr. Y. Nokul Singh elaborated on “World No Tobacco Day”, the effects of tobacco to human health and environment. He also interacted with participants on RMNCH-A+.
Md. Riyas Sheikh, thanked the ASHAs and Anganwadi wokers for successfully organizing the programme. He highlighted various programmes and schemes under the National Health Mission and also explained the public about AB-PMJAY and Chief Minister gi Hakchel gi Tangbang.
Th. Romen Singh, Malaria Technical Supervisor talked on prevention and control of vector borne diseases in the village.
Low cost sanitary pads, Iron Folic and Albendazole tablets were also distributed during the programme.About 60 women & adolescent girls of the area attended the programme.
P. Roshalin, Community Health Officer, Health Wellness Centre, Langathel thanked the CMO Thoubal and other district officials for sparing their valuable time and interacting with the participants.
Similar programmes were also held at Thoudam Mamang Leikai, Khangabok Khullakpam Mamang Leikai, Yairipok Bamon Leikai Mathak Leikai, Chandrakhong, Ukhongsang Maning Leikai and Charangpat Maning Khongja Wangma.
It may be mentioned that similar VHSNDs will be held at 107 Village/Leikais during the first 100 days.
