Tamenglong TD Block on Monday launched a six‑week Jan‑Samvaad public outreach campaign to spread awareness about the new Viksit Bharat–Guarantee Rozgar & Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (formerly known as MGNREGS). The campaign begins this week with a Media Dialogue and will move through the weeks including a “Right Protection Pledge Day,” Viksit Bharat Gram Samvaad, “From Non‑Violence to Rights” activities, a dialogue with Panchayati Raj functionaries on the new Act, and a workers’ felicitation programme.
The VB‑G RAM G Act raises guaranteed wage employment from 100 to 125 days per rural household each financial year. Tamenglong TD Block, which comprises 40 village authorities/wards with over 9,400 job card holders, is mobilizing local and state media, panchayats and community groups to ensure broad outreach.
Authorities said the wage rate will be notified and will not be less than the prevailing rate, citing an indicative figure of Rs. 280 per day. To strengthen transparency and accountability, job card holders must complete eKYC (Aadhaar) — job cards without eKYC will be unable to make work demands from financial year 2026–27. The National Mobile Monitoring Service (NMMS) face‑authentication system will be used for real‑time attendance recording.
Block officials urged all job card holders to attend Jan‑Samvaad events for on‑spot eKYC assistance and demonstrations of the NMMS system, and to contact their Village Authority or the Block office for details.
