Deoria (UP):Three people were killed after being mowed by a truck in Madanpura area of Deoria district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a senior police officer said here.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma said the incident took place near Barah crossing when the speeding truck mowed down three people. “The truck first hit a cyclist Paras Nath Pandey (50) and then mowed down Sunil (45) and Gauri (60), who were sitting near a bonfire, some 100 meters away from the first spot,” he said.
He said while Sunil and Gauri died on the spot Paras Nath, who was seriously injured, was admitted to the medical college where he succumbed to his injuries. “The police have detained the truck driver and impounded the vehicle. The bodies have been sent for post mortem examination,” they said.
