Sonbhadra (UP): A man was attacked with an axe and killed by his wife in Babhani area of Sonbhadra district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Thursday.
Police sources said that Jai Prakash (34), a resident of Parsa Tola, was attacked with an axe by his wife Sonamati around 1 am on Wednesday night. “Jai Prakash, who was hit on his forehead, died on the spot. Sonawati left the house after writing something on the wall,” they said.
Police sources said that the eight-year-old son of the couple, who witnessed the incident, informed the other family members. “The deceased father Dhan Singh has lodged a complaint against Sonawati,” they said.
Inspector Amit Kumar Singh said that the wife was absconding after the incident. “She had returned home along with her two children from her sister’s house in Chaga village on Wednesday evening,” he said.
