UP: Girl shot dead in Ballia

Ballia (UP): A 24-year-old girl was shot dead by unidentified persons inside her house in the Chitbaragaon area of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, police sources said.
Police sources said the incident took place in Rampur Chit village, where some unidentified persons entered the house and shot Gudiya Yadav while she was sleeping in the courtyard.
“When the family members, who were sleeping on the first floor, heard the gunshot and rushed to the spot, they saw three people fleeing from the back door,” they said.
Police sources said that Gudiya was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Superintendent of Police (SP) S Anand said that the girl was shot in the head.
“The body has been sent for postmortem examination. Three teams have been constituted to investigate the case,” he said.
