UP: BJP expels corporator of buying stolen child

It may be noted that Vinita along with her husband Krishna Murari Agarwal were arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday on charges of buying a child stolen from Mathura junction.

Firozabad: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator, who is accused of purchasing a baby boy, who was stolen by the gang involved in trafficking of children, was expelled from the party on Tuesday.

Taking cognizance of a complaint sent by the district president, state general secretary of BJP Govind Narain Shukla has expelled corporator Vinita Agarwal from the party. She has been expelled from the party on charges of conduct contrary to the dignity of the party.

It may be noted that Vinita along with her husband Krishna Murari Agarwal were arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday on charges of buying a child stolen from Mathura junction.

They were arrested after the GRP nabbed six members of a gang involved in trafficking on the children. All the accused, including the corporator and her husband, have been sent to jail. The issue snowballed into a political controversy after Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav criticised the BJP leadership.
