Ukraine gets 70 fighter jets

It said 16 MiG-29s and 14 Su-25s had been given by Bulgaria, 28 MiG 29s by Poland and 12 MiG-29s by Slovakia.

New Delhi: The Ukrainian Armed Forces said on Tuesday it has been handed over 70 aircraft from friendly countries which will be based at Polish airfields for combat missions.

“Seventy planes for the Army! Our partners are handing us MIG-29s and Su-25s and, if necessary, they will be … based on Polish airfields from where pilots will perform combat missions,” the Armed Forces tweeted.

It said 16 MiG-29s and 14 Su-25s had been given by Bulgaria, 28 MiG 29s by Poland and 12 MiG-29s by Slovakia.

Ukraine has been receiving arms and ammunition from NATO countries to resist the Russian military invasion. Ukraine on Tuesday claimed that Russia had lost 5,710 personnel in the ongoing war since February 24, besides 29 fighter aircraft, 29 helicopters, more than 200 tanks and 77 artillery systems.
