New Delhi: This Tuesday is doubly rare as the date is not just a palindrome but an ambrigram as well.
This year’s February 22 will be written as 22/02/2022, which is a palindrome as it cane be read the same way both forward and backward. Besides, it is also an ambigram as it is the same upside down.
Another such date sequence will come after 100 years, 22-2-2122, and 100 more to see the real 22-2-2222.
Taking to Twitter, German Ambassador to India Walter J.Lindner said, “Today’s date special: a so called ‘Palindrome Day’! 22.02.2022! This is, when day’s date can be read same way backward and forward, perfectly symmetrical. Even more perfect number will happen way beyond our lifetime (in 200 years): 22.02.2222! Busy days for cosmic numerologists!”
Meanwhile, February 22 is also a special day for being the birthday of US’ first President George Washington.
