Imphal: Manipur Narcotic sleuths Friday arrested two women along with Heroin No. 4 in Churachandpur.
The accused have been identified as Nemgneihoi Haokip, 25 years, wife of Goumang Zou of Satang Village, Saikul and Nem FCjahat Haokip, 40 years, wife of Thangminhao Haokip of Thadou Veng, Singhat a/p Zion Veng, Tuibong, Churachandpur.
They were apprehended from a place in Khenjang village, Churachandpur and 100 soap cases containing Heroin No 4 weighing about 1.26 kg were seized from their possession.
A case is registered at NAB PS and an investigation has started to establish links and for follow-up action, said a press note from the PRO Manipur Police.
Meanwhile, a team of Bishnupur police arrested two persons from Keinou Bazar namely, Nongthombam Premjit Singh (45 years), son of late N. Biren Singh of Tera Khongshangbi Wahengbam Leikai, at present residing in Tingkai Khullen, Kangpokpi District and Satminlen Kipgen (24 years), son of Kaikam Kipgen of Loibol Khullen, Kangpokpi District and seized a total of 5.055 kg (approx) of Opium, one Bajaj Pulsar-150 Bearing Regd. No. MNO2A-2135 and one mobile handset from their possession on April 20 at around 3.10 pm.
The arrested accused persons along with the seized items were handed over to Bishnupur Police Station. In this regard a case has been registered at Bishnupur Police Station for investigation.
