Shillong: Two new COVID-19 cases, were detected in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district while one more person recovered from the viral infection in the district on Thursday.
Meghalaya has registered 13, 985 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 148 deaths and 13, 817 recoveries so far, while the number of active cases as of date was 20.
With 16 active COVID-19 cases and 122 deaths due to the viral disease, the East Khasi Hills, including the State capital Shillong remains the most affected district.
Of the 3, 81, 349 persons tested for COVID-19 till Thursday, 3, 67, 364 persons were tested negative for the virus, even as 13 persons were in institutional quarantine and seven persons were in home isolation, the State, which had one containment zone.
On the other hand, 16,015 health care workers received the first dose of the Covishield vaccine and 8,138 health care workers received the second dose, while 29,213 front-line workers were inoculated with the first dose of the vaccine and 132 frontline workers with the second dose as on Wednesday.
Moreover, 7,440 general public based on eligible age group has received their first dose of the anti-COVID vaccine so far.
