Ambassa(Tripura): Tripura Minister for Industries and Commerce as well as Food Minister Manoj Kanti Deb handed over an ambulance to the remote primary health centre (PHC) of tribal-dominated Nakashipara in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai on Thursday.
In a brief programme, the Minister handed over the keys to the In-charge of the PHC Dr Nirmal Deb. In the brief speech, Deb reiterated the state government’s focus on education and health care. He also expressed hope that the ambulance would play a role in ensuring community health services. On that occasion, Dr Subhasi De, SDM Abhijit Chakraborty and others remained present whereas local Soumendra Debbarma presided over the function.
The ambulance was bought with 7.46 lakh rupees from the BEUP fund. It might be mentioned here that, Manoj, as a Congress MLA between 2008 to 2013 set an example of expensing every paise of BEUP fund in public welfare.
