Tripura CM to strengthen emergency response as Rakhi gift

Appreciating the law-and-order situation of the state, Chief Minister said except for some petty crimes and socio-political turbulence, the law and order of Tripura are better than any other state in the country.

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday after accepting the sacred thread on the occasion of Rakhi Bandhan celebration from sisters at his residence announced that his government would activate emergency response dialing 1091 immediately as a gift to women.

Addressing the ladies assembled at his residence to offer him Rakhi, Dr Saha highlighted the initiatives of the Modi-led government at the centre for empowerment of women and the steps undertaken by the state for the development of women folk in Tripura for the last four and half years by BJP led government.

He announced that as a Rakhi gift his government would ensure free education for college girls and install another 400 close circuit cameras in and around Agartala for ensuring the security of the city dwellers, especially for the women, which will further intensify the surveillance around the clock.

“Agartala city is augmenting more amenities and changing the features of a small town to a cosmopolitan city with all facilities like other international cities. Some critical features are also being added in the city life; therefore, the government is trying to enhance the safety and security measures at par with the development,” Dr Saha maintained.

Appreciating the law-and-order situation of the state, Chief Minister said except for some petty crimes and socio-political turbulence, the law and order of Tripura are better than any other state in the country.

The government has been working on the modernization of police and embarking on the mission of strengthening the scientific investigation of crimes and National Forensic University has already opened its campus here to provide trained manpower.
