Agartala: In view of the surge of Covid-19 cases, the Tripura government has decided to close down the classes of I and II for an indefinite period from tomorrow while the classes of III and IV will be held on alternative days and rest classes will remain functional as usual.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, “The department has reviewed the situation and got feedback from the stakeholders, based on which taken the decision of suspension of classes at the junior-most level as of now and others are opened but everything would be depending on the situation of Covid-19.”
He pointed out that all the classes from V, hostels and colleges would remain functional with precautions.
Head of the intuitions have remained to ensure Covid appropriate behaviours for all the students, teachers and staff besides, ensuring cent percent wearing of masks, cleaning and sanitising hands regularly and sanitising the campus, he stated.
Moreover, if any student, teacher or staff develops minimum symptoms it has to be reported to the nearest hospital and sent for isolation without any delay, Nath added.
