Imphal: In connection with the ensuing Manipur Legislative Assembly General Elections, a training of political parties and media was held Friday at the Panchayat Bhavan of Imphal East DC Complex. Conducted by the District Election Officer/DC, the training focused on EVM/VVPATS and other election related processes.
Representatives belonging to various political parties of the state and media houses attended the training program. CEO of Imphal East Zilla Parishad and Nodal Officer Dr N Johnson briefed the participants on the topics of Election Training, Expenditure Monitoring, Electoral Roll and SVEEP etc.
District MCMC Nodal Officer also gave a PowerPoint presentation on the role of MCMC (Media Certification and Monitoring Committee) focusing on paid news and certification of advertisements related to political parties and candidates. Other officials also demonstrated and taught the participants on handling EVMs/VVPATs.
