Aizawl : A one-day Training on Tomato Cultivation and Distribution of Seeds was held at Agriculture Conference Hall, Lunglei Monday under the aegis of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Lunglei District. Pu Malsawmkima, MAS, District Agriculture Officer, Lunglei District graced the inauguration as Chief Guest.
Pi Liansangpuii, DHC (Horticulture Department) and Pu John Laltluangliana, Deputy Project Director (ATMA) were the resource persons for today’s training.
At the inaugural function chaired by Dr. V. Zodinsanga, Project Director, ATMA, Pu Malsawmkima commended ATMA Lunglei District for their invaluable technology dissemination activities, and for successful implementation of trainings, demonstrations & exposure visits for farmers. He encouraged the farmers to continue to work in earnest, and to always seek out necessary assistance and guidance from the Department as and when required.
At today’s program, Farmers Award comprising Citation and cash prize of Rs.10,000/- each was also distributed to one selected farmer each from the 4 Rural Development Blocks. The winners are Pu C Lalnunmawia, Serkawn, Lunglei Block, Pu Zosangliana, Thenhlum, Bunghmun Block, Pu Lalengmawia, Cherhlun, Hnahthial Block and Pu Vanlalnghaka Sailo, Lungsen, Lungsen Block
