Jiribam: In a spirited display of patriotism, the district administration of Jiribam organized a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ mini marathon as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
The event was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam, Krishna Kumar, IAS, from the Irobot statue point. During the event, participants, including 25 students from various local schools, took a ‘Tiranga’ pledge, affirming their commitment to the nation.
Senior Superintendent of Police Jiribam, M. Pradip, IPS, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jiribam, Th. Manoranjan Singh, MCS, and other District Level Officers (DLOs) and officials attended the event to support the young runners and the initiative.
In his remarks, Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar emphasized the district administration’s active role in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Nasha Mukht Bharat’ campaigns as part of the 78th Independence Day celebrations, which commenced on August 9th. He also mentioned the district’s tree plantation program, themed ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A Tree in the Name of Mother), launched on World Environment Day.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the citizens of Jiribam to hoist the Tricolor at their homes, highlighting that it is a symbol of pride, honor, and national unity.
In related activities, a full-dress rehearsal for the 78th Independence Day was conducted at the Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground, featuring contingents from the 87th Battalion CRPF, 7th Battalion IRB, and Jiribam District Police.
