Agartala: The ruling TIPRA Motha of Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (ADC) on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan demanding to rescind the cases registered against its party supporters by BJP last week.

The TIPRA Motha leaders alleged that the ruling BJP’s inner conflict had instigated the attack on each other groups who had attended the rally of its National President J P Nadda on Aug 28 last at ADC headquarters. But BJP falsely implicated TIPRA supporters in the incidents.

The memorandum stated that a large number of supporters /workers of TIPRA Motha were taken to police custody based on false and fabricated cases of BJP and later some of them have been unconditionally released but a few of them were sent to jail.

“No attack was carried out by TIPRA Motha on any supporter, rather Motha Chief welcomed Nadda in ADC and reiterated the demand of Greater Tipraland peacefully. How can police register a case against TIPRA Motha supporters without any proof, just based on the motivated complaint?” Motha leaders argued.

They further claimed that there are so many cases framed in different police stations which are currently under trial before the concerned court. The arrest and producing the arrested supporters of a party before the court based on a false and fabricated case was nothing but a clear violation and infringement of the rights of the citizens of the Country, the leaders stated.

They criticized the role of some police personnel over the activism that is subject to warranted proper investigation. The party has also demanded rescinding/nullifying all the concoction cases framed in the police stations against innocent people, supporters of TIPRA, and opponent parties immediately.
