Imphal: In Manipur registered a low four covid related deaths in a long while, in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday. During the same time, the state recorded 525 positive cases (522 general population and 4 CAPF) and 520 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
Of the four persons who succumbed to the deadly virus, one each of them belonged to Imphal East, Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Thoubal. The cumulative death toll in the state with these six deaths now stands at 1,732.
Three of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while one of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 522 persons (267 males, 255 females) from the general population who tested positive include 178 from Imphal West, 97 from Imphal East, 63 from Ukhrul, 42 from Thoubal, 39 from Churachandpur, 32 from Kakching, 23 from Bishnupur, 7 from Chandel, 6 from Kangpokpi, 4 each from Senapati and Tamenglong and 3 from Noney.
Altogether, a total of 4,165 persons were tested accounting for a positivity rate of 12.6 % in the state on Thursday.
Meanwhile, 520 persons were discharged which include 218 from home isolation, 149 from CHICs, 129 from CCCs, 12 from JNIMS and 12 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 93.40%.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,09,843(General Population – 1, 05,758, Central Security Personnel – 4,085). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,02,603(General Population – 98,575, Central Security Personnel – 4,028). The number of active cases is 5,508(General Population – 5,456, Personnel – 52).
Altogether 7,790 were vaccinated on August 18, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 62,972(1st dose 11,72,909, 2nd dose 2,90,063).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 19, is 366 which include 295 general beds and 71 ICU/HDU beds.
The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state is 3547 out of which 1670 are occupied and 2477 are vacant.
