Imphal: The Thadou Community International (TCI) has strongly refuted claims made by the Churachandpur-based Thadou Tribe Council (TTC-GHQ), which labelled TCI a “bogus entity” formed by non-resident Thadou individuals.

In a statement released on Saturday, TCI rejected the allegations, calling them false and baseless. “The claims by the fake Thadou Tribe Council (TTC) are completely unfounded. In reality, it is the TTC that is a bogus creation, driven by anti-Thadou vested interests and Kuki supremacists aiming to spread misinformation and create confusion within the community,” TCI said.

Contrary to the TTC’s accusations, TCI emphasized that it was established by genuine members of the Thadou community from across the globe, including countries such as the USA, UK, Norway, Australia, Myanmar, India, Singapore, Macau, and Malaysia. These members are united by a common vision of protecting the rights, promoting the welfare, and advocating for the best interests of the Thadou people, the statement added.

TCI currently has two convenors and 30 executive members representing Thadou communities worldwide. It remains committed to its core values of peace, justice, courage, liberty, and unity, while addressing ongoing injustices, persecution, and human rights violations faced by Thadou community members.

TCI also reaffirmed its mission to unite and empower the Thadou community both locally and globally, vowing not to be deterred by individuals or organizations who lack concern for the welfare of the Thadou people, whether from within or outside the community. TCI remains dedicated to the pursuit of justice, peace, and non-violent solutions for the Thadou people, regardless of their geographical locations.

The organization dismissed TTC-GHQ’s claim to be the apex body of the Thadou Tribe as “ridiculous and laughable,” noting that TTC was renamed Thadou Inpi in 2015 during the Thadou Conclave Declaration, and has since ceased to exist. Following the formation of the so-called TTC in Churachandpur earlier this year, both Thadou Inpi and the Thadou Students’ Association (TSA) issued clarifications, denouncing the entity as fake and urging anti-Thadou propagandists to stop spreading misinformation.

TCI further urged the public not to entertain any statements issued by the TTC, which it claims is confined to the Churachandpur Tuibong area and controlled by a few Kuki supremacists with ulterior motives.
