Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday, Manipur reported 10 Covid related deaths, 602 new positive cases(596 general population, 6 CAPF) and 573 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
Of the 10 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, three each belonged to Bishnuppur and Thoubal while two each were from Imphal West and Kakching. The cumulative death toll in the state with these eight deaths now stands at 1,710.
Two of the deceased had co-morbidities while two of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 596 persons (299 males, 297 females) who tested positive from amongst the general population include 213 from Imphal West, 129 from Imphal East, 77 from Bishnupur, 46 from Thoubal, 34 each from Churachandpur and Pherzawl, 17 from Chnadel, 12 from Ukhrul, 11 from Kakching, 10 from Kamjong, nine Tamenglong, five from Noney, two each from Tamenglong and Kangpokpi and one from Senapati.
A total of 3,907 persons were tested on Thursday amounting to a positivity rate of 15.4%.
Meanwhile, 573 persons were discharged which include 280 from home isolation, 138 from CHICs, 130 from CCCs, 12 from JNIMS and 13 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 92.37% on Thursday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 08,270(General Population – 1, 04,196, Central Security Personnel – 4,074). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,00,013(General Population – 95,997, Central Security Personnel – 4,016). The number of active cases is 6,547(General Population – 6,494, Personnel – 53).
Altogether, 4,802 were vaccinated on August 14, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 40,122(1st dose 11,67,750, 2nd dose 2,72,372).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 15, is 208 which include 141 general beds and 67 ICU/HDU beds.
Of the total 3547 beds available in CCCs in the state on August 15, 1157 are occupied while 2390 are vacant, the release added.
