Kolkata: The prime accused in the city’s double murders case, Vicky Halder has been arrested along with one of his accomplices from a multi-storied complex in Mumbai, police investigating the crime said on Monday.
The homicide wing of Kolkata Police has been on the hunt for the prime suspect Vicky Halder since the double murders were committed in the house of Subir Chaki, whose mutilated body was found along with his driver in October 17.
Subir Chaki, 61, managing director of Kilburn Engineering Ltd, and his driver Rabin Mondal, 65, were murdered. The house, off Golpark in Gariahat, was Chaki’s ancestral property. He and Mondal were found dead inside on the night of October 17.
Police said Vicky Halder was hiding in an under-construction multi-storied complex in Mumbai, along with Suvankar Mondal, who is also one of the suspects in the gruesome killings.
The homicide wing Kolkata Police following an input raided the under construction multi-storied complex in association with Mumbai police and nabbed the duo, who would be produced in a court there on Monday for transit remand.
With the latest arrests all six accused, including the mother of Vicky, in the twin murder case have been arrested.
