Imphal: On Thursday, STAR Education successfully held a ZEO Conclave, focused on gathering grassroots feedback to enhance program implementation at the district level. The event highlighted achievements, addressed challenges, and facilitated the exchange of ideas among District Education Officers and their teams.
The Conclave attracted Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) along with over 70 officials from ZEO Offices across all districts. Attendees included Assistant Inspectors, Deputy Inspectors, Resource Persons, and System Analysts, who actively participated in discussions and breakout sessions.
ZEO Chandel, Y Hemchandra Singh, stated, “STAR Education is driving a significant transformation in Manipur’s education system. So far, they have reached 511 schools and trained more than 2,000 teachers and headmasters, equipping them with improved teaching methods, smartphones, and tablets. Despite challenges posed by the current situation in Manipur, I believe this program has the potential to elevate our government schools to a globally competitive level.”
ZEO Imphal East, M Premchandra Singh, added, “STAR Education is the first program of its kind in India, tailored specifically for government schools in Manipur. With meticulously designed lesson plans, teacher and headmaster training, and skills enhancement, we are seeing positive outcomes in learning. This Conclave offers a chance to review progress and gather insights for further improvement.”
The event provided a platform for assessing key milestones in learning performance while emphasizing the importance of grassroots feedback. Input from ZEOs will help ensure that STAR Education’s initiatives are aligned with the real needs of schools. The program’s focus on cluster-level support is aimed at enhancing education monitoring and intervention efforts, with a bottom-up approach being seen as vital to successful educational strategies.
During the event, STAR Education’s P&P Director, Sonny Chungkham, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting the Government of Manipur in achieving national educational objectives in line with the National Education Policy (NEP). “Our efforts are fully aligned with the broader goals set by the NEP,” he emphasized.
Breakout sessions, led by STAR Supervisors and Inspector Associates, featured district-wise performance data reviews, which will help tailor interventions to meet the specific needs of each district.
The Conclave underscored the pivotal role of Zonal Education Officers in driving learning improvements and achieving measurable outcomes. Their leadership is crucial to the success of educational initiatives throughout Manipur.
